Book three of the Windham family is another very good read. I wish I may, I wish I might, I wish a wish on stars tonight that Grace Burrowes will delight me more in the near future with her storytelling of yesteryear’s delights. This is the story of Valentine Windham, youngest of the three surviving sons of the Duke of Moreland. I gave thsi three virtuosoo because the plot and historical accuracy issues are so strong that I couldnt’ read it without being annoyed.

His only skill is playing the piano and he is inded a virtuoso. Lord Valentine Windham has a courtesy title, however being one of the surviving two out of four sons of a duke have made him wary of ladies of the ton. My only quibble is that she seems to emphasize her heroines monthly courses a lot, in all of her books.

The Virtuoso — All About Romance

I also liked that in this book there wasn’t a huge Class Barrier like there was in the first two books. All three of the menfolk got their happy endings. Burrowfs course there is a deep dark secret or two behind her actions, which Valentine works hard to uncover after winning the estate title in a card game with its heir, the most unscrupulous Baron Roxbury, cousin of Ellen’s late husband. It was really his story, which was fine with me, it really worked here.

Ellen directs Val to the local resources needed to rebuild.

I found Val charming in the other two books and was quite looking forward to learning more about him. She is a very gifted author and I can’t wait until the next book comes out. All of her Regency romances have received extensive praise, including starred reviews from Publishers Weekly and Booklist.

I reviewed this novel for Romance Reader At Heart website: Ellen is a wonderful compliment to Val’s character. And as a classical music lover, the music thing bugged me. I will not betray your confidences.

The Virtuoso had less sex but burroaes was just as ridiculous. His father doesn’t understand Val’s passion for his music. If you read The Heir and The Soldier, The Virtuoso will catch you up on the Windhams you already know and will bring into bright focus the youngest of the sons, Valentine, who has always felt like a misfit that his father did not understand.
